How long does it take to mine one Monero?

It’s been a couple of weeks since I tried out different Monero mining strategies. Both with a consentual mining popup on this very blog and having an 8 core server mining Monero 24/7 (and having my desktop machine at home help out a bit when online).

So far I’ve mined 463,692,596 H (Hashes) which translates to 0.0403166853 XMR (Monero) with the mining pool approach, which you can read more about here:

Beyond that, by having the pop up on the blog for a few days, that mainly gets disabled anyways by AdBlockers or even Anti-Virus software on Windows (even though a users clicks: “Yeah, alright”) I’ve gathered: 426.9 Million H (Hashes) equal to 0.05907 XMR (Monero)

Combined that’s 0.0993866853 XMR, at the time of writing:

  • 55.20 USD
  • 43.35 EUR

which is not that much, taking into consideration that the server chipping away costs around 30EUR a month and the time spent literally exceeds it by far, if I had spent that on billable client hours.

Nevertheless, blogging about and mining Monero remains fun!

At my current rate it would take about 10 months to get one Monero coin over the mining pool and the minimum payout is 0.3 XMR.

Over the past few months Monero has grown from 70$ to 500$ (with considerable fluctuation along the way).
