On Winning Your Days
We live in a very competitive and challenging society, which is why I quickly wanted to share a feeling I had today, which I want to turn into a habit. For a lot of my life my drive has come from just being dissatisfied with myself.
Today I feel a little more that I actually achieved something and I don't focus on all the things I have not yet done. I have not yet gotten back to all of my clients, I have not yet done as much for my day job as I wanted to, but I still got things done.
After years of inactivity and a deprecation notice showing my my WordPress Plugins, I actually updated them and even implemented a feature. They're now both live again and tested with WordPress 4.1:
For today, I believe this was the kicker that got me feeling like: "Hey, you did something!", it's important to go back to old projects and keep them alive sometimes. To do things that aren't hard, but just annoying and to see how far you've come since the beginning of it.
Scrolling back through your blog posts, through the photos you've taken or through the code you've written will show you, that you know better now, than you did back then. It's much easier for you to realise the progress you're making.
At the end of the day, we all have to decided if the way was a win or a loss. How you define those is up to you, but don't be to hard on yourself, at least not every day.
How do you define if your day was successful?
