Quick tip: Reload File Tree in Brackets / Adobe Edge Code

I love experiments, not necessarily on animals, but with software. That’s one of the reasons why I’m intrigued when it comes to Brackets. It’s Adobe making their own, yet open, source code editor in JavaScript.

To be honest, one of the things that annoyed me, rather, pissed me off, was that the file tree (dark grey area to the left) does not refresh automatically. In my world it needs to do that. When I pull from a git repository, update a module with npm, or simply download or move some file into the directory I am working.

That was, until I figured out, that I just could hit CMD+R when working and it would reload the whole window, including the file tree.

A feature I still am missing though is nice line wrapping.
