NodeBB is a Node.js based forum software that has gained a lot of traction in the first year of its existance. It’s making use of socket.io to communicate between client and server in real time. This means that the whole experience of using a forum gravitates towards the feeling of a chat, with the benefits of only tuning in on topics that interest you. For this project I chose MongoDB, which is a NO-SQL database, mainly because it fits nicely into the stack, since it’s almost the same as JSON objects inside.

I just stumbled upon buffer’s hiring page and I think it’s great. It shows what they’re doing, is visually beautiful and deserves a look! Buffer allows you to time your updates on social networks like twitter, facebook, linkedin and google plus. You can set which post you want to publish on which network and also when, so your posts don’t stop when you go offline or so you’re sure to hit your target group when they’re browsing a tag.
